Today I installed your script and it works good.
I have 2 suggestions:
1) Why doesn't the script remove folders with locales? In directory /usr/share/locale. It removes only files.

2) there are also localised help files. For example in dir '/usr/share/gnome/help/'. It would be great remove these files too.

If well configured you dont need to do a backup because the script only remove unused languages...
So if anyone want to send me a patch are welcome :)

This is a great idea for a program. I have a small suggestion: why not add a --pretend or --ask option, like what emerge offers, so that you can see what is to be deleted before committing?

Hi.
I thinks this script should have an option to automatically make a backup (tar) of man/locales it is going to remove. Recovering from any failure would be easier this way.

lanarak, your mistake is common, for it you must use this script by your own risk... ecause you cannot undelete it.
Each app have have its own locales files, so you must reinstall, all apps you need in spanish...
and don forget to add es_AR to locale.nopurge the next time.
good luck

I made a mistake.
The man says: "The only way to reinstall any lost locales is "remerging" the ebuild."

OK, which ebuilds I must "remerge" for recover lost locales?

Thanks

ok, I've used it.
I didn't realize that I have setted LC_ALL="es_AR" and zap all locales except "es_ES" (which is not what I've configured on the system.

Now my apps refuses to appear in spanish and give me a lot of weird console errors about locale.

What must I do???

Thanks
