GTK dark theme (Murrine engine)

You can download a new dark gtk theme here. It uses the Murrine Engine. It is light and eye friendly :)

Is not finished yet so any improvement is welcome.

I want in orange too the top horizontal line in active tabs, and left vertical line in menu.

New GTK Theme & clearlooks mockup

Some time ago i created a dark theme for gtk called DarkBlue. Now i updated it and change the name to DarkNice BLue. Now a little ChangeLog:

So it have 2 known bugs, if somebody can help me with this :D ….

Bug one:

The slider control have a nice gradient, so this gradient doesnt works in the scrollbar control.

Bug two:

in the url box of epiphany and in deskbar the widget have some stange behavior, the blue line is not full drew. why? i don’t know so in my ibook more strange, it draws a black square in the box..

Strange right?

Well i was playing with the clearlook gtk-engine and i whink in a few nice features :

  1. title and menu bar unified: can be very nice tiger style with a nice gradient or similar :)
  2. Menu & submenu highlight: a border in the active menu and submenu can be very nice too.
  3. highlight default button: the default/active button will be highlighted with a line (ala macos too).

nautilus mockups

Just some images to about a few new ideas for nautilus. This ideas can be very usefull, because it helps you to know in what folder, or special folder are you.
Nautilus-cd-burn really need a visible “burn” buton and a bar that calc the space used to burn the files in the device.

When you open a device, the current icon of the device will be showed in a background corner of nautilus.

If you open a folder with an emblem, The emblem will be showed in the bg-corner and in all the subfolders.

the nautilus-cd-burn window will use the cd-r, dvd-r, etc icon in the background-corner and an special bar at top showing the “burn” button and a bar with the used and free space of the device. n-cd-b must autodetect the media type to calculate the free space. Can be a nice idea too a combobox button to selec the type of burn, audio or data.

Hacking with gtk themes

I was bored of my gtk bright theme, so i was searching for a new theme, a dark theme. But i didn’t find a perfect theme. So i created my own one :P
Is based/inspired on darkcoffe2 and Chatsubo using the ClearLooks gtk-engine (yes, i love the animated progress bar :P)

The theme is ClearLooks-DarkBlue-0.5 and of course a screenshot

The theme is not perfect (yet) so any comment is welcome. If you like, or not, it drop me a comment :)

In other hand, ikke made an script with ideas from recursos.sh so only for plain text. is a nice script :)

I never did one before so i learned a lot about gtkrc file. Was a hard find all colors and values so i will include a lil description of some values :
