Hi, thanks for it, I give it a try, becouse I was interested in such cleanup.

But I did a mistake – during configuring /etc/locale.nopurge I wasnt sure, how exactly define to not clean CZECH so I typed

    # localepurge –help

to start it with some pretend option. Instead this, I saw how quicly were my *mo files removed. :-(

Next time, I will be more patient.

What does localepurge do, that just setting LINGUAS=”yourfavoritelocale” in make.conf does not?
Currently I have LINGUAS=”et”, my /usr/share/locale is 2846 KB, of which “et” is 814, very few builds don’t follow LINGUAS requirements.

Currently the second biggest locale, de, at 156 KB:
    # ls de/LC_MESSAGES
    apollon.mo nicotine.mo tmp.mo wxstd.mo

localepurge exist beore LINGUAS, now is less useful, so it’s interesting yet for some users.

Hi BaSS, thanks for support, I have everything in czech language back.

    Hi Tarmo,

I am using in make.conf LINGUAS=”cs” too. But many K-programs (not from kde-base portage directory) are emerged with all available languages. Is it my mistake? I think not, I am taking it as fact. And here is example:

    # equery f kmplayer | grep kmplayer.mo
